CYPPMAG
Cape York Peninsula Pest Management Advisory Group (CYPPMAG) is a
community based body that provides advice and direction on pest
management for Cape York Peninsula. The group provides direction for
the work undertaken by the Cape York Weeds and Feral Animals Program
funded by NHT. CYPPMAG members are also instrumental in
developing guiding documents such as the CYP Pest Management Strategy
the CYP Pest Management Plan.
CYPPMAG provides a forum for representatives of stakeholder groups from
throughout the Peninsula and Government agencies relevant to pest
management.
The membership made up of: is:
- Community representatives from the 3 catchment-based sub-regions of CYP defined for this project
- Landholder representatives
- All CYP Shire Council’s
- Weipa Town Authority
- The Department of Natural Resources and Mines
- Environmental Protection Authority (Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service)
- Conservation and Community Representatives
CYPPMAG's main role is to ensure that all stakeholders are involved in determining the regional pest management priorities that are to be implemented by the program.
